2023 Mercedes-AMG GLE-Class Fleet Captured In Dozens Of Spy Photos

Snow is sure to fly in the northern latitudes, and Mercedes-Benz doesn’t waste it. Our spy team in Sweden captured several tweaked versions of the upcoming GLE-Class for 2023, specifically the high-performance AMG model. With still shots, action shots, and interior shots, we’ve got a little of it all featured in the two new photo galleries below.

We’ll start with the tallest model, the AMG GLE 63. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a facelifted SUV test in public, and in fact, we’ve seen accurate the same prototype in January, sporting the same 5206 license plate. The level of camouflage is still the same, meaning that there is almost no camouflage at all. The caps around the headlights and taillights hide the changes to the lenses, but everything else remains the same. Surprisingly, Mercedes still hides the big star on the grille but neglects to cover the smaller badges on the hood and rear gate. Could there be a shining star there?

The same goes for the other GLE 63 sightings, only this time a GLE 63 Coupe is stuck in the parking lot. Our photographer circled the test vehicle, capturing detailed shots of the front and rear where we saw similar camouflage wrapping around the headlights. We also get great interior views, which look identical to the current GLE model except for an upgraded steering wheel. We suspect the MBUX system also brings some new technology.

The last sighting was the GLE 63’s lower-power sibling, the GLE 53 Coupe. The round exhaust tip at the rear delivers, but this is where things get more interesting. This test vehicle wears camouflage wrap across the entire front fascia. We saw the same in the facelifted GLE 53 SUV seen in January, suggesting additional changes are coming at this trim level. We can see the intake angles differ slightly, perhaps giving the 429-horsepower version a bit of a visual bite.

Speaking of power, we don’t expect any changes to the engine or driveline with this simple refresh. As for when the nip-and-tuck AMG GLE will arrive, it could break the lid later this year as the 2023 model.
