James Garner’s 2009 Cadillac CTS Goes For $100,000 At Auction

The last car that Hollywood icon actor and racer James Garner owned was a custom 2009 Cadillac CTS. This luxury sedan recently crossed the auction block in Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, where it raised $100,000 for charity.
Garner’s chic CTS is finished in Black Cherry with black stripes. Four-door rides on a set of large, multi-spoke chrome wheels.
The front end features a simple mesh grille with a silver finish, which notably lacks a Cadillac badge of any kind. Apart from the customization, this sedan has what we would characterize as an understated appearance.
Inside, the second-generation Cadillac CTS features a clean black interior with silver accents. Just like the exterior, the passenger compartment is not too flashy, but gives off a subtle sense of luxury.
Other details include a personalized “JG” monogram on the driver’s door, and a license plate that reads “MAVROCK” referring to the 1957 TV series. Maverickin which Garner starred.
Under the hood, the Garner CTS is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. As with all second-generation CTS models, it also features power steering, power brakes and air conditioning.
It’s no surprise that this vehicle appears to be in pristine condition; it has only 18,000 miles on the odometer.
As noted earlier, Garner’s CTS costs $100,000, all of which is donated to the charity set up in his name, the James Garner Animal Rescue Fund. The fund was founded by the actor’s daughter, Greta “Gigi” Garner. It exists to support various animal welfare operations for a variety of services, including rescue organization assistance, shelter, foster and veterinary emergencies with emergencies, pet adoption, along with transportation and food.
