VW Amarok 2023 Huge Infotainment System Teasing, Looks Very Familiar

Volkswagen is continuing with the strip-tease Amarok 2023 – now with a preview of its infotainment system. In the teaser video, the German brand shows a 12-inch vertical display, highlighting a single piece of glass that covers the entire panel.

Having driven the previous 2023 Ford Ranger in Thailand, the large screen looks familiar as it is the same as the one mounted on the next generation Blue Oval pickup truck. This is not a surprise as the next Amarok is Ranger based and as previously announced, the system will run on Ford’s SYNC4.

If we base what we experienced with the Ranger screen, you can expect most of the controls in Amarok’s vehicles on a large touchscreen. This includes climate control and even off-roading – yes, even a switch to turn the rear differential on and off is housed inside the infotainment, though we’re not sure if this will be the case with the Amarok 2023.

Thankfully, there appears to be a separate tactile control for the air conditioner, which should be great for displayless operation while driving.

Previously, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles teased the rear of the Amarok, showing revamped taillights and tailgate stamped with the V6 badge. However, it is still unclear whether this six-cylinder engine will be the original VW TDI or a carry-over from the new Ranger.

Volkswagen has shown off some details about the Amarok 2023, including an increase in overall size. It will be 100 millimeters (3.93 inches) longer and more than 40 mm (1.57 inches) wider than the outgoing model while payload capacity has been increased to 2,645 pounds (1,200 kilograms) and towing capacity is rated at 7,716 lbs (3,500 pounds). kg) .

Five trim levels were announced, namely Base, Life, Style, Panamericana and Aventura – with wheel sizes varying depending on the variant, ranging from 17 to 21 inches.

Volkswagen is set to reveal the Amarok 2023 on July 7, 2022.
