The BMW M2 2023 couldn’t come fast enough. The German marque has been testing the new model in stealth since last year, plus shared a teaser earlier this year.
However, it seems BMW can’t keep the M2 away from the eyes of internet users. In Instagram posts by users @wilcoblok, the rear of the BMW M2 that has allegedly been caught on camera, shows a number of fine details for the rear of the coupe. According to the social media post, the source of the image was another Instagram user, @bmw_m_collectorBMW M car enthusiast.
In the photo behind the supposed M2, the taillights appear to follow the proportions of the previous model’s headlights, as opposed to the narrow styling of the larger M3 and M4. The vertical reflectors are also retained, while the quad exhaust is barely visible in the leaked images. The shape and LED graphics of the taillights have been revamped.
This isn’t the first time a BMW M2 design has been leaked online. Last year, the M2’s front bumper was posted on Instagram, revealing the square grille and angular intakes for the compact coupe.
So far, the leaked front bumper remains in sync with the spy shots and teasers, which tells us that the rendering of this leak could be close to the original. In any case, take this leak with a healthy dose of skepticism.
The BMW M2 2023 will be launched this year. While early reports led us to believe it would debut at this month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the official release recently announced otherwise. Instead, the all-new BMW M3 Touring will grace the famous Goodwood hill climb, alongside the M4 CSL.
