The 2022 Cadillac XT5 is once again built to feature heated and ventilated seats, Cadillac Society has learned.
Starting May 1st production, all XT5 units that typically include heated and ventilated seats are off the assembly line with the feature once again. Convenience features were previously limited on March 14th production, as Cadillac chose to withhold it as a result of the ongoing global microchip shortage.
Under normal conditions, heated front seats (production code KA1) are included as standard on all Cadillac XT5 trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. It should be noted that the XT5 Sport’s trim levels are not affected by this feature limitation, while the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims are built without those limitations. Heated outboard rear seats (production code KA6) are typically equipped on the XT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and are not offered on the base Luxury trim.
Meanwhile, ventilated seats (production code KU9) are optional on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and are not offered at all on the base Luxury trims. Like the heated front seats, the Sport trim level remains unaffected by the restrictions placed on the ventilated seats earlier this year.
As of this writing, the heated steering wheel comfort features are still being withheld from the 2022 Cadillac XT5, along with front and rear parking assist technology. It’s unclear if or when this feature may return.
Just a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 is offered with two engine options. The 2.0L I4 turbocharged engine (production code LSY) has 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Models with this engine feature a 350T badge on the lift doors. Additionally, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX) produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The model with this power plant features a 400 badge on the back.
Production of the luxury crossover takes place at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
