Compact Motorhome Offers Amenities From More Expensive Competitors

Itineo is a motorhome maker from France that launched a compact model called the Nomad. It is relatively inexpensive compared to competitors but still packs a lot of amenities into a small physical footprint.

The Nomad used a Peugeot Boxer van as a starting point. However, Itineo added different styling to the front and rear to give the motorhome a more attractive look. The revised look includes stacked headlights on the nose and hockey stick-shaped headlights at the rear.

The motorhome measures 21.69 feet (6.61 meters) long and 7,185 feet (2.19 meters) wide. There is a sleeping area for four people. Buyers can choose from three configurations at the back: a roughly full-sized mattress, two single beds, or a bunk bed. In addition, the other bed folds up from the roof above the cabin.

The kitchen is small but fully featured. There is a three burner stove and a refrigerator. Plus, there’s a small oven, if you plan on baking cookies while camping.

The Nomad also has a bathroom that provides a shower, cassette toilet, and sink in one space.

Doors on each side of the exterior open to reveal storage space. A button there lifts the bed, which sits above this area, and this creates enough space to haul a bike up there.

Power for the Nomad comes standard from a 2.2-liter turbodiesel that produces 140 horsepower (104 kilowatts). Buyers can upgrade to an optional tone that produces 165 hp (123 kW). The driver in this video reports that the underpowered version is powerful enough to get around.

Prices for the Nomad start at £63,600 ($80,057 at current exchange rates). This one option costs £67,994 ($85,625). The reviewers in this video note that there are more expensive motor homes that don’t have the standard features offered by Itineo.

There is no indication Itineo is expanding its offering to the US. However, videos like this one give an idea of how European campers traveled.
