[ad_1]

Mercedes-AMG has a new teaser showing the front angle of the sporty new member of the C-Class family. The short clip shows the start-up sequence in which the headlights are lit and leveled. Then, the lights are turned off.

Surprisingly, even though there is an audio option for the video, the clip is completely silent. It may be meaningless, but we wonder if it’s a subtle hint. Rumors suggest that the new C-Class AMG model adopts a hybrid powertrain. Perhaps the lack of audio is a way to tease the upcoming vehicle’s ability to run silently on electric power.

Judging from the little body we can see, this appears to be a replacement for the C 43 as the front fascia isn’t as aggressive as we’d expect on the C 63. There have been conflicting reports about this. model name. Various stories claim that it remains a C 43, while others suggest the moniker is now a C 45 or C 53.

Despite the name, the new model is reported to have an electrically assisted 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Without any hybridization, the plant produces 416 horsepower (310 kilowatts) and 369 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters) of torque in the CLA 45 S.

Drivetrain specifications are not yet available. Although, the C 43 is currently only available with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It’s not too surprising that a combination of automatic gearbox and AWD is also carried over to the new vehicles.

The Mercedes teaser simply says more info “coming soon.” If the company is willing to show us an undisguised vehicle, we won’t have to wait too long to see all of them.

Upon the arrival of this model, we know that the new C 63 is in sight. Reportedly also using a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, the turbo is rumored to have an electric motor to spin it, similar to the new SL 43. There will also be another electric motor to turn the axle. Total output is reported to be as high as 600 hp (447 kW). Spy shots show sedan and wagon variants on the road.
