In this case, the term keep calm under fire is a literal description of the video shown above. It represents roughly two minutes of a dramatic high-speed chase in which an armed robbery suspect shoots an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer. The video ends with the police turning the SUV off the road, but sadly, that’s not the end of the story.

The incident occurred on April 2nd, as posted in the video description by Police Activities Youtube channel. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was alerted to an armed robbery suspect driving a black SUV, which we can see is a new Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The vehicle is spotted but the suspect refuses to stop because of the police, leading to a chase on a highway near Oklahoma City.

The video features three camera angles of Trooper Brack Miller, who starts dodging bullets around the 24 second mark. Another shot was seen for about 50 seconds, followed by an unsuccessful PIT maneuver attempt which Miller called “ugly” in a surprisingly relaxed tone, considering he was shot. The footage then jumps to the next part of the chase, and now we see at least one bullet hole in the windshield of Miller’s Dodge Charger pursuit vehicle.

More shots and a second PIT attempt followed, but Miller’s third effort sent the SUV spinning off the highway. Once again, his tone sounded nonchalant as he radioed TVI TVI TVI, indicating the Tactical Vehicle Intervention ending the chase. The video ends with Miller stopping and observing the damage to his car, where we clearly see two bullet holes in the windshield on the driver’s side. Good grief.

The chase was over, but the dangerous situation didn’t end there. According to reports from KFOR, the male suspect was armed with an AK-47 and barricaded himself with an SUV, a shootout with police led to a stalemate along Interstate 44, closing off the highway for several hours. Two police officers reportedly suffered injuries but are expected to make a full recovery. The suspect died on the spot.
