Almost a year ago, Audi unveiled the A6 E-Tron Concept with a smart liftback styling and a range of over 400 miles. Draft is the buzzword in that sentence, though the production variant should go official this year. It could come sooner rather than later, and it might take an electrified A6 Avant for the ride.
We knew the A6 Avant E-Tron was coming. Audi only quipped on social media with the distinctive long roof shape hidden in the shadows, not to mention specifically calling it the A6 Avant E-Tron Concept. With the teaser comes the promise that it “will be revealed.”
Are we talking weeks, or even days? The A6 E-Tron concept broke last year’s cover on April 19, so it’s possible the wagon could follow suit with an April debut. That’s especially true considering the 2022 New York Auto Show will be happening at the time. The show starts on April 15th, so if the debut is made before the show, it will definitely fall into the realm of will be revealed, because it’s only a few weeks away.
What to expect from the A6 Avant E-Tron Concept? To Audi’s credit, the factory rumors are all but silent, leaving us to borrow from the existing A6 E-Tron liftback for some speculation. In concept form, the vehicle promises a hefty 100 kWh battery pack. Enough for Audi to claim a range of over 435 miles per generous WLTP standard, while also delivering a combined 470 horsepower (350 kilowatts) using dual motors for the Quattro all-wheel drive.

We suspect these statistics are at least a good starting point for the electric train concept. In the teaser, Audi directs people to special website featuring the existing A6 E-Tron Concept, and that’s definitely no coincidence. The wagon’s profile certainly looks slim; if it covers the impressive range with even modest electric horsepower of the liftback concept, the Avant E-Tron could hold out in the future as a fun and family-friendly SUV alternative. We certainly can’t wait to see what it’s all about.
