Friends, February is almost over. That means spring is just around the corner, and for off-road fans of Jeep persuasion, it means the annual Easter Jeep Safari isn’t far away. This year marks the 56th holding of the event in Moab, and of course Jeep will come with some interesting vehicle concepts.
We’re still more than a month away from the action, but the Jeep gave us a taste of what to expect in the first part of what is likely to be a lot of teasers. In a press release at the 2022 Jeep Easter Safari, the automaker named the concept vehicle “bigger, better, greener, faster and undeniably” from both the Jeep Proper and Jeep Performance Parts. Oddly enough, the teaser campaign doesn’t open with Jeep’s premiere freedom machine, the Wrangler. Instead, we get a glimpse of the Grand Cherokee’s face and the silhouette of a Gladiator made up of QR code fragments.

Let’s focus on the Gladiator for a moment. Yes, we scanned the image with a code reader and the result was blank, so if there is a hidden message, here it is well hidden. The Jeep Performance Parts logo tells us that this Gladiator will likely be a parts group creation, outfitted with all kinds of off-road accessories. The profile shows a set of fat tires in the mix, along with brush guards up front but it’s clear there’s still a lot to learn.

Another teaser photo shows the front of the Grand Cherokee, and it can be assumed that this is a 4xe plug-in hybrid. We say that because of all the blue used in this sketch, and also because the accompanying press release includes a lengthy raving about a “4xe electric Jeep SUV that’s sure to conquer even the most chaotic terrain along Moab’s country trails and further highlight the Jeep brand’s vision for achieve Zero Emission Freedom.” Long, indeed.
We’ve seen as many as seven Jeep concepts at the event in recent years, so stay tuned for more teasers showing other vehicles in the days and weeks to come.
