Much like the modern world of music, in the modern auto industry – or, to be more precise, the transportation industry in general – it is becoming increasingly difficult to define different categories and genres. Blending vehicles from different segments into something completely new is trendy, but Latvian start-up Zeltini has taken this idea to a whole new level. Friends, meet the Z-Triton, bike, boat and RV in one.
We don’t even know how to describe this creation – the design is unique and unlike anything we’ve seen before. The three-in-one vehicle lets you explore the world on land and water, and even offers room to sleep. In the form of a tricycle, you can pedal or use electricity to power a pair of 250 watt motors. There is room for two adults.
Turning the Z-Triton into a boat is an easy job. All you have to do is lift the bike wheels, inflate and attach the stabilizers, lower the electric boat motor from the cab, and off you go. Zeltini said the entire procedure took less than five minutes. And don’t worry about running out of electrical energy for the motor – there are paddles that can be attached as an alternative way to power the Z-Triton.
Last but not least, there is also a camper mode. The best thing about it is that it works both on land and in water, which basically means you can spend the night in the middle of a lake. The Latvian company promises it is spacious enough for two adults to sleep comfortably. There are solar panels on the roof that provide energy for the built-in Bluetooth speaker. Perhaps the strangest feature, however, are the pots on the roof that allow you to take your favorite plants on trips with you.
Zeltini already sells the Z-Triton in select European markets. The starting price is €14,500 (excluding VAT and shipping), approximately $16,422 at current exchange rates, and the company intends to start shipping the unit worldwide soon.
